Another residential break-in was reported in an upscale L.A. neighborhood on Wednesday morning, this one occurring as the sun rose and residents were home.
According to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Cervantes, a 911 call regarding a burglary came at 5:42 a.m., with two residents inside the home advising dispatch that two or three suspects had entered the location.
It was not immediately clear whether anything was taken. No injuries were reported.
Video from Sky5 captured police officers investigating the high-end home’s balcony as a woman, presumably a resident, looked on from below. A window accessible from an upper floor balcony was smashed open, the footage showed.
Another man, also presumably a resident, was seen canvassing the home’s backyard.
The investigation remains in its preliminary stages. No further details were immediately available.
This latest break-in comes amid a spike in burglaries across several upscale Los Angeles neighborhoods, with three San Fernando Valley neighborhoods suffering the most recently: Encino, Sherman Oaks and Studio City.
Hollywood Hills has also seen more burglaries recently, one of which involved a resident holding an intruder at gunpoint until police arrived and took him into custody.
