Even without Caitlin Clark on the floor, the Indiana Fever keep winning games. On Sunday, the team defeated the Seattle Storm 78-74, pushing Indiana into a one-game lead over the Storm for the No. 5 seed in the WNBA playoffs. Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston continue to play well, giving Indiana a viable shot at earning homecourt in the first round of the playoffs despite Clark’s injury-riddled second WNBA season.
The Sparks looked like one of the league’s worst teams for a long time, but the team is suddenly in the race for the No. 8 seed after going 7-3 over the past 10 games. That includes a huge double-overtime win over the Seattle Storm in the team’s most recent game, which saw four players score 20 or more points. With Cameron Brink finally back from the knee injury that ended her rookie year early, the Sparks look like a very dangerous squad.
