The Pittsburgh Steelers are gearing up for their first preseason game. Aaron Rodgers may not play much if at all during the preseason, but he’s preparing for what he has said will be the final year of his NFL career.

Rodgers is coming off of back-to-back disappointing years with the New York Jets. In his first season with the team, he tore his Achilles on the first series of the season. After that in year two, the team simply didn’t come together well.

Now, he’s looking to finish off his legendary career with a successful year and hopefully Super Bowl contention with the Steelers.

While some believe that Rodgers is washed up and is no longer capable of being the superstar quarterback that he has been throughout his career, those who have seen him in person disagree.

Most recently, former NFL player and current media personality Ryan Clark spoke out with his opinion on the 41-year-old quarterback after seeing him during camp in Pittsburgh.

Clark took to social media to share a strong statement about Rodgers.

“I can confirm it @AaronRodgers12 can still really throw the football… it’s crazy in person!” Clark said. “2010-11 Super Bowl Flashbacks.”

No one should expect Rodgers to play like he did when he was in his prime. He may not be able to perform at that insane level, but he can still play at an elite level.

Last season with the Jets, Rodgers played in all 17 games in his first year removed from the torn Achilles. He completed 63 percent of his pass attempts for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

Those numbers were off the charts. Even at his age, Rodgers put together a season that many NFL quarterbacks would love to have.

Only time will tell if he can lead the Steelers to a Super Bowl. He has an elite weapon at the top of the wide receiver depth chart in the form of DK Metcalf. After Metcalf, he’ll have Calvin Austin II, Robert Woods, and Roman Wilson as his main targets.

Pittsburgh also has two talented tight ends in town. Both Pat Freiermuth and Jonnu Smith will be quality playmakers for Rodgers.

Expect to see the longtime superstar quarterback play at a high level to finish off his career. Rodgers has a huge goal of winning a title with the Steelers and he’s looking good on the field so far.
