Police are searching for multiple hit-and-run suspects after a man was fatally struck by three cars in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The LAPD said it was around 9 p.m. when the first vehicle, traveling northbound on La Brea Avenue, struck a pedestrian in an unmarked crosswalk at the Roseland Street intersection in West Adams. The car that hit him did not stop and drove away from the scene.

Once the victim was already down in the roadway, at least two additional vehicles ran over him while also driving northbound on La Brea. Again, none of the drivers stopped to identify themselves, render aid or call 911 to get him assistance as required by law.

It was not immediately clear how far apart each hit was or how much time passed before medical aid was called.

“The Los Angeles Fire Department’s paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased while he was being transported to a nearby hospital,” LAPD stated in a release.

As of Monday afternoon, the victim has only been described as a 61-year-old man. Police said his identity is not being released until additional family members are notified.

The LAPD said it would like to remind motorists that a reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Lopez Del Haro, Serial No. 34345 or Detective Moreno, Serial No. 32013, South Traffic Division at 323-421-2500. To remain anonymous, callers should contact the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477) or go directly to www.lacrimestoppers.org.
