PHOENIX — Queen Creek residents who turn to desert-friendly landscaping in favor of grass lawns could be eligible for up to $5,000 in project reimbursement.
The town seeks to lower water usage through xeriscaping to achieve more prevalent natural plant life and arid terrain.
Businesses are also eligible for up to $20,000 in reimbursements.
Who is eligible for Queen Creek’s reimbursement program?
Residential and business projects must take place within Queen Creek’s municipal boundary and be completed by March 1, 2026. Awards are paid out on a first-come, first-served basis.
For residential transformations (minimum of 500 square feet), incentives can be paid out to cover $2 per square foot or 75% of total project costs, whichever is lower. Up to 1,000 feet of artificial turf can be counted toward the project.
Business and other commercial projects can receive up to 50% of equipment costs to upgrade water-using technologies, such as smart irrigation controllers, cooling tower monitoring systems and more.
Registrants must go through a rigorous pre-approval process, where property information, photos and plans must be submitted for residential transformations. Commercial projects will need their plan inspected before and after the work, which may apply to some residential projects as well.
