Phillies Predicted To Finally Trade All-Star Infielder In Offseason Deal

The Philadelphia Phillies were reportedly looking to trade infielder Alec Bohm at the trade deadline last season, but they opted to hold onto him.

During the offseason, Bohm was again mixed around in trade rumors, but again, he remained in Philadelphia.

The trade rumors heated up again at the trade deadline this year, but the slugger still remained with the Phillies.

FanSided’s Christopher Kline recently suggested the Phillies will finally trade Bohm in the offseason after holding onto him at the trade deadline.

“Philadelphia has Aidan Miller shooting through the farm system. He could be ready for the MLB roster as soon as 2026. Moreover, the Phillies will have a lot of money coming off the books in a few months,” Kline wrote. “Assuming Philadelphia does not max out to keep Kyle Schwarber, we can expect Dave Dombrowski to operate a bit more free and loose than he has in recent years. That gives Philly the wiggle room to really prioritize an upgrade in the infield.

“With Trea Turner’s defense on the decline, Philly would be wise to invest in a more dependable third base glove — ideally one who doesn’t slip into the sort of prolonged slumps that have defined Bohm’s 2025 campaign.”

Bohm seems to be on his way out of Philadelphia, especially with Aidan Miller surging up the minor leagues.

There’s also a chance the Phillies hunt a player like Alex Bregman in free agency in order to bolster their lineup beyond the production Bohm gives them.

Either way, it seems like his days in the City of Brotherly Love are numbered. He doesn’t have the defensive versatility to remain in the lineup every day if the Phillies make the upgrades they are likely going to do in the next year or so.
