A man who called police to report someone inside his upscale Hollywood Hills home took matters into his own hands and held the suspect at gunpoint before officers arrested the suspect, according to police.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a residential burglary call in the 1700 block of Crisley Way around 1:35 a.m. Saturday, a department spokesperson confirmed to KTLA.
“The homeowner stated that a suspect was inside his house,” the spokesperson stated.
When officers arrived a short time later, they found the homeowner holding the suspect at gunpoint. That suspect was then taken into police custody.
No information surrounding their identity was immediately provided; however, video obtained by KTLA shows a man wearing a green-ish jacket being handcuffed and escorted to a squad car.
Officers were also seen gathering evidence from the luxury home, situated on a cliff overlooking the city, and interviewing people, presumably the home’s residents.
Per the LAPD spokesperson, no injuries were reported. Responding officers gave the homeowner the option to file a private citizen’s arrest; however, he declined to do so.
A trespassing report was taken since nothing was taken and the suspect was arrested.
