A woman was arrested for stealing hundreds of dollars worth of items from a Sephora store in Orange County.
The suspect was identified as Jennifer Mayerly Gonzalez, 33, of Los Angeles, according to the Irvine Police Department.
On July 30, surveillance cameras captured the woman entering a Sephora beauty store at the Irvine Spectrum Center mall in Irvine.
She is seen standing around the Dior beauty section as other shoppers pass by before stealthily grabbing what appears to be liquid and powder foundation products along with other unidentified merchandise.
She quickly places the stolen items into a large purse before walking out of the store without paying, police said.
Officers later tracked Gonzalez’s vehicle on the 5 Freeway near El Toro Road and pulled her over. Inside her car, police found over $900 worth of stolen beauty products from the store. According to Sephora’s website, Dior foundations are priced between $60-$90 a piece.
Gonzalez was arrested on multiple charges including theft with a prior, receiving stolen property, possessing burglary tools, and identity theft. She was booked at the Orange County Jail.
She was also wanted on allegations of receiving stolen property in connection with a separate case, police said.
