Kristen Doute questioned Scheana Shay’s motives for revealing Brock Davies’ affair two years after the “Good As Gold” singer found out about it.
“The thing is, I don’t understand — I’m not accusing anything, not throwing that out there — but it’s like if you and your husband got over this years ago, why now?” Doute wondered during Tuesday’s episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast.
Although Doute recognized that her former “Vanderpump Rules” co-star’s situation “sucks” and is “really, really sad,” the mom of one did not hold back on her skepticism.
“I’m not her. But I’m putting myself in her position if it were Luke and I,” Doute continued, referring to her fiancé, Luke Broderick.
“I can not imagine being like, ‘Well we’ve kept this between us and we’ve worked on our marriage, but now, I’m just gonna throw you under the bus.’ The bus with like giant tires that have f–king spikes on them. Just drag you down the street.”
The “Valley” star clarified that she was not defending Davies, admitting that she doesn’t like him at all.
“He’s not my cup of tea. … And I really don’t like that he did this to her. She doesn’t deserve that. And when she was pregnant?”
Doute concluded that she has “a lot of emotions” about the situation but still questions the timing of Shay’s decision to reveal her husband’s infidelity years later.
Davies cheated on Shay in 2020 while she was pregnant with their daughter, Summer Moon, but did not come clean about until spring 2023.
The news of Davies’ affair broke on July 10 when an excerpt from Shay’s memoir, “My Good Side,” was published by Glamour.
In the excerpt, Shay, 40, detailed the day he finally confessed, saying she was “in a state of paralyzed shock” and then felt “completely sick” to her stomach.
According to Davies, the woman he cheated with was someone he had known before dating Shay and had recently reconnected with.
That same night, he also gave her a letter where he revealed how many times he and the woman had slept together and the places they had intercourse.
“Once I’d read it, that was more than enough,” Shay wrote. “I told him to immediately toss it into the fire. I never wanted to set eyes on those words again.”
One day after her husband’s affair made headlines, Shay hinted at why she kept the betrayal a secret for so long during an episode of her “Scheananigans” podcast.
“There are some things that I haven’t been as forthcoming about, maybe that I never corrected the narrative on or never shared my side of the story,” she began.
“I’ve thought, ‘If I tell people what I’m actually going through, then they’re gonna think I’m trying to take the attention off what someone else is going through,’” the reality star explained.
The mom of one found out about Davies’ affair around the same time that her former castmate Tom Sandoval’s months-long affair with Raquel Leviss came to light. Shay suggested she didn’t want to take away from what Sandoval’s then-girlfriend, Ariana Madix, was going through.
She also explained that she didn’t want to reveal Davies’ affair on the show because she was still processing the situation off-camera and wanted to protect their daughter.
Davies publicly broke his silence about the affair last week on his wife’s podcast.
“It was a sexual affair. There was no dating. There was no courting. It was just purely that. Meet up and we’d have sex,” the fitness trainer admitted.
He said it happened “multiple times” over three weeks, but he stopped cheating because he “felt horrible about it.”
Davies also expressed support for Shay’s decision to expose his affair publicly, saying, “I’m proud of you for telling your story and I’m sorry for this being a part of your story.
The couple confirmed their engagement in July 2021 and secretly tied the knot before having a larger celebration in Mexico in August 2022.
