A Riverside couple has been arrested following a months-long investigation into allegations of child abuse and narcotics trafficking at their home, according to a press release issued Saturday by the Riverside Police Department.

The department’s Sexual Assault – Child Abuse Unit (SACA) initiated the investigation in mid-May 2025 after receiving reports that three children were being physically abused by their parents. By the time authorities were notified, the children had already been removed from the home by Riverside County Child Protective Services and placed in temporary foster care.

As the investigation progressed, detectives developed suspicions that illegal narcotics were also being trafficked from the residence, located in the 7900 block of Magnolia Avenue. On Tuesday, July 15, SACA detectives served a search warrant with assistance from the department’s METRO Team and Narcotics Unit.

During the search, investigators seized over 900 grams of suspected heroin, more than 300 grams of cocaine, approximately 155 grams of MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy), and nearly 200 grams of suspected fentanyl pills. Packaging materials and a large sum of cash were also recovered, according to police.

Officers noted that the drugs were found in areas of the home that were easily accessible to children and believe the children may have been exposed to both the manufacturing and distribution processes.

The children’s parents, identified as 31-year-old Miguel Jacobo and 34-year-old Alma Dominguez, were arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center. Jacobo faces multiple felony charges, including narcotics violations, child abuse, and child endangerment. Dominguez was charged with felony child endangerment. Both are currently being held without bail.

“This investigation remains ongoing and no further details are available at this time,” the department said in its statement.

Anyone with additional information is urged to contact Detective Jennifer Cappelen at (951) 353-7950 or [email protected]. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through the Riverside Police Department’s “Atlas 1” mobile app, available on both Apple and Android devices.
