This weekend will continue to be hot and humid, with temperatures warming into the 90s and dew point temperatures warming into the 70s. While it will be very warm and humid over the weekend, it will get even hotter into the week ahead.

The Weather Authority will have a stretch of Impact Days for this upcoming week due to extreme heat. Temperatures through the week ahead will soar into the upper 90s and near 100. High heat and humidity will make it feel more like 110 or higher at times. There is a major heat risk from Sunday through Wednesday.

Saturday will be a warm and humid day with a mix of sun and clouds. Afternoon temperatures will rise into the low 90s, and it will feel more like 100 at times. However, it will be even hotter by the first half of the week as temperatures soar into the upper 90s and near 100.

A Heat Advisory will go into effect on Sunday, July 27, at 11 AM and run until 9 in the evening for most of the Tennessee Valley. Heat index values on Sunday are expected to reach close to 106-108. Additional heat advisories or warnings are likely to be issued this week, as temperatures continue to rise.

Be sure to take steps to protect yourself from the extreme heat this week. Be sure to stay hydrated, take breaks, limit time outside during the hottest part of the day, and never leave people or pets in hot cars.

Once we make it through the upcoming heat, temperatures look to moderate back to normal for the first part of August. Daytime highs should moderate back to the upper 80s by the first week of August.

Stay with The Weather Authority for continued updates to the forecast.
