The Indiana Fever are still holding out hope that superstar guard Caitlin Clark will be able to get back to full health and on the court before the 2025 WNBA season comes to an end.

It has been a depressing season for Clark. She has been dealing with nagging injuries all season long and they have sidelined her once again.

While the Fever hold a 13-12 record and are still very much alive in the race for the playoffs, Clark has only played in 13 of those games. She is also currently out indefinitely as she recovers from a groin injury.

Despite not being able to play, Clark’s impact on the WNBA and sports world as a whole remains clear.

Most recently, Clark broke another record despite not stepping on the court. She had a trading card sell at auction for $660,000. That sale broke her own record of the highest-selling trading card of a female athlete.

Even without playing, Clark cannot stop breaking records. That sale shows just how big of a name she has become.

On the court, Clark’s performance has fallen off this season. As she deals with injuries, her numbers have dropped, which should not be held against her.

In the 13 games she has played this season for Indiana, Clark has averaged 16.5 points per game to go along with 8.8 assists, five rebounds, and 1.6 steals. She has also shot 36.7 percent from the floor and 27.9 percent from the three-point line.

Where does Clark currently stand in her recovery from the groin injury? The Fever offered an update about her status that wasn’t great news.

“Following a July 15 injury to her right groin, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark underwent further medical evaluations earlier this week. The team can confirm that no additional injuries or damage were discovered through the evaluations,” the statement read.

“Clark will continue working with the Fever medical team on her recovery and rehabilitation, with the priority on her long-term health and well-being. There is no timetable available for Clark’s return, and no additional details will be provided at this time. Any further updates will be shared as they become available.”

Hopefully, there will be a positive update in the near future. For now, Clark has another record to add to her resume, this time being an off the court record.
