He was really twitching.

Wild video captured the moment a gamer was struck by lightning while livestreaming from inside his North Carolina home last week.

The twitch streamer, known as “Chrispymate,” was recording from his Holly Springs home during a storm on July 19 when a bright bolt of lightning flashes in the window outside and lights up the screen, the shocking footage shows.

At the moment the bolt strikes Chrispymate jolts out of his chair, yanks the wire headphones connected to his computer out of his ears, and runs across the room.

An audible crackle can be heard on the stream at the moment the electrical current from the bolt makes its way to his ears.

“Bro, I just got struck by lightning,” he said to his viewers. “I’m gonna stop streaming.”“So, I was sitting in here and I had my earbuds in and a big thing of lightning hit, and like, my ears, I felt lightning go, like, through my earbuds.”

While incredibly rare, lightning can, indeed, strike within a home without destroying the entire premises.

Electrical currents can travel through wiring, plumbing, and any devices plugged into a wall — including headphones connected to computers.

Last week, one person was killed and 13 others, including children, were injured in a lightning strike at a New Jersey archery venue.

One 10-year-old Cub Scout Ryan Coopey’s socks and shoes were shredded and he suffered second degree burns on his heels from that deadly strike.
