Tony Award winner Cole Escola (Oh, Mary!) is set to star opposite Melissa McCarthy in Margie Claus, an upcoming holiday musical comedy from Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, the studio announced today.
Directed by Kirk DeMicco, the film sees Santa go missing on Christmas Eve, with his wife Margie assembling a rag-tag team of long-retired reindeer to rescue Santa and save Christmas. Escola will be playing Levi, Margie’s “right-hand elf,” per a social media video with McCarthy, which you can view below.
The script is by Ben Falcone and Damon Jones. McCarthy and Falcone are producing alongside Michelle Wong, who boards the project after recently producing Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters. The film will be released in theaters on November 5, 2027.
Coming off a Tony Award win for their role in Broadway’s record-breaking hit Oh, Mary!, which they also wrote, Escola is also known for roles in Search Party, At Home with Amy Sedaris, Difficult People, Fantasmas, Mozart in the Jungle and more. Also the co-creator, writer and star of the cult hit series Jeffrey and Cole Casserole for LogoTV, they are repped by Rise Management and UTA.
