It looks like Harry’s time in the town of Patience has ended. TV Insider reported Thursday night that the sci-fi dramedy series “Resident Alien” would be ending with its current fourth season.
“Resident Alien” has three episodes left in its fourth season, including what will now act as its series finale on August 8.

The series had previously flirted with cancellation after its third season. “Resident Alien” managed to squeeze through to its fourth season with a smaller budget and a move from SyFy to USA.
Despite the show gaining more exposure by streaming on Netflix and Peacock, ratings apparently weren’t helped enough to save the series. Its failure was no doubt helped by overall declining cable viewership.
Chris Sheridan – who created, executive produces, and acts as showrunner for “Resident Alien” – told TV Insider he had a good idea that Season 4 would be the end of the series.
“I knew going into it that this was likely going to be our final season,” Sheridan said. “Creatively, that was exciting because I knew we could spend the time wrapping up some storylines and driving toward an ending. I’m so proud of how good Season 4 is and especially proud that we were able to finish as strongly as we did, with a finale that is probably my favorite episode of the series.”
Sheridan assured fans that what is now the series finale delivers “a very satisfying ending while also leaving the door cracked open for any future this world may have. I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”

Initially, Harry wants nothing more than to leave Earth and wipe out humanity, but over the course of the series his mission and his relationship with humanity changes.
Along with Tudyk, the cast of “Resident Alien” includes Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund, Levi Fiehler, Judah Prehn, Elizabeth Bowen, and Meredith Garretson.
