President Donald Trump‘s approval rating with women has declined since June, according to Fox News polling.

According to polls conducted by the broadcaster, the proportion of women who approve of the job Trump is doing as president has declined from net -16 in June to net -21 in July. June’s -16 approval rating was a slight increase from April, when Trump’s approval rating was net -18 so July’s figures show his approval rating has reversed course.

Why It Matters

Women are a key voting bloc. In 2020, Trump’s vote share among women in the 2020 election improved from 2016, rising from 39 percent to 44 percent while Biden won 55 percent of the vote, according to analysis from the Pew Research Center. In 2024, his share increased further and he won 46 percent of female votes.

Trump’s popularity has fluctuated in the first few months of his administration so securing votes from all demographics in the nation will be important when voters head to the midterms in November 2026.

What To Know

In the July poll, Fox News polled 1,000 registered voters. It found that 39 percent approved of Trump while 60 percent disapproved of him.

This marked a decline from June when 58 percent disapproved of the president and 42 percent approved of him.

And his July approval rating among women was lower than it was in April when 59 percent disapproved of him and 41 percent approved.

Trump’s approval rating among men, traditionally a strong base of support for the Republicans, has also declined.

According to new CBS/YouGov polling, just 47 percent of men said they approve of the job Trump is doing as president, while 53 percent disapprove.

More broadly, Trump’s approval rating was negative in the majority of states in America when he celebrated his sixth month anniversary in office.

A Tyson Group poll, conducted June 25-26 among 1,027 U.S. adults, showed Trump at 45 percent approval and 51 percent disapproval overall.

However all is not lost. He is gaining more traction with Hispanic voters, a crucial demographic who traditionally support Democratic candidates, a poll has shown, while another poll has suggested the proportion of college-educated voters who approve of the president’s job performance has increased since June.

What People Are Saying

Political analyst Craig Agranoff, previously told Newsweek that losing female voters was “a significant concern for his administration, given women’s substantial influence as a voting bloc.”

Agranoff continued: “This low figure likely reflects dissatisfaction with his rhetoric and policies on issues like reproductive rights & economic equity, which resonate deeply with many women. It’s not quite a crisis, but it’s a warning sign, especially in a polarized electorate. To make an immediate pivot, Trump could soften his messaging, perhaps by highlighting policies that directly address women’s economic or health care concerns, like child care support or workforce protections.

What Happens Next

Trump’s popularity will be tested when voters head to the polls for the midterm elections in November 2026.
