HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — WWE Hall of Famer and pro wrestling legend Hulk Hogan died at 71 on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest.

Clearwater Police said they responded to a call at Hogan’s Florida home, and he died later at a local hospital. Officers said they do not believe any foul play was involved.

Hulk Hogan visited the Rocket City in November 2024, promoting his “Real American Beer” line. After visiting five spots across the city, he ended his day by swinging by the Furniture Factory Bar & Grill for his final event.

Furniture Factory Owner Mark Komara said Hogan was intentional about taking his time to make everyone feel appreciated and the event extra special.

“When he was up on this stage behind us, and how the people interacted with him and what he did with the people,” Komara said. “He stood there. He was supposed to be here for 20 or 30 minutes. He was here for a good hour and a half.”

Komara recalled Hogan sharing personal stories in the green room about his career and making time to answer all of the questions fans had, despite having a long day of events. He said the restaurant was filled wall-to-wall with people, and some even waited on the street to see Hogan.

“Whoever wanted to come in, sign an autograph, talk to him. I can’t describe it, you know? I miss Hulk Hogan. When I heard that story, it just broke my heart,” Komara said.

When asked what he remembers about Hogan, Komara immediately mentioned his authenticity, detailing how genuine a person he was. He said that the November night at the Furniture Factory will live on for years to come.
