An investigation is underway in Northridge after police shot and injured a man who was reportedly armed with a gun, officials confirmed to KTLA.

The incident, some of which was caught on a cellphone camera, unfolded at around 7:45 p.m. in the 9300 block of Corbing Avenue, not far from Prairie Street.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of an armed man and were seen on in footage obtained by KTLA chasing the suspect on foot through the parking lot of a strip mall.

Outside of a Korean barbecue restaurant, one of the officers is seen opening fire as the man runs for cover in between parked vehicles toward the rear of the restaurant. The officer then fires two more shots at the suspect.

Medical personnel with the L.A. Fire Department also responded to the location and were seen loading a man, presumably the suspect, into the back of an ambulance.

It’s unclear if the suspect was struck by police gunfire and if so, what condition he was in when he was taken to the hospital.

It is also not yet known if a firearm was recovered on the suspect or at the scene.

On X, previously Twitter, L.A. police said that the officer-involved shooting was under investigation toward the rear of the 9000 block of Corbin Avenue and that any additional would be shared when they became available.
