EXCLUSIVE: Rabbits Black, one of the key financiers of troubled indie movie Lone Wolf, has gone separate ways from company partner Sean Krajewski.

The company confirmed to us that Krajewski is “no longer associated with Rabbits Black”, but declined to comment on the reason for the exec’s recent departure, which comes at a time when project Lone Wolf, which Krajewski was closely involved in putting together, is under the microscope due to its financing falling apart. As we have reported, the project has been in limbo for months due to funding issues. Star Bryan Cranston told us last week that he won’t return to filming until all cast and crew are paid outstanding wages.

Rabbits Black has told us multiple times that it met all of its contractual financial obligations related to Lone Wolf, and the company is understood to be part of the ongoing effort to get the project finished. The company is one of a handful of financiers on the movie, which has had a bumpy ride. At least three of its partners are executive producers on the project, including Krajewski and company owner Ronnie Exley.

Krajewski has been active on most of Rabbits Black’s movie projects to date and is listed as an executive producer on Longlegs, Weekend In Taipei and Goodrich, as well as upcoming movies such as Midnight, Deep Water, Hotel Tehran and He Bled Neon. We have reached out to him for comment about his departure.

U.S. outfit Rabbits Black has been prolific in a short space of time, having only begun to invest in film in the last few years. It has contributed to at least 13 features that are either currently filming or in post-production, according to IMDB. Its founder Exley has a background in tech.

The company’s website describes the firm as “a collective of companies and partners that invest and operate in ventures across film, music, hospitality, and sports”. Funding includes “senior lending, equity financing and P&A financing”, while investments also include “branded content, entertainment technology, and other ventures”. Jeremy Ross serves as Head Of Films.
