The lead actors for Sony and Nintendo‘s live-action The Legend of Zelda film have been announced.
Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto took to X to announce Bo Bragason as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. “I am pleased to announce that for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda, Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason-san, and Link by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san,” Miyamoto wrote, attaching a pair of images that show the two in costume. “I am very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen.”
The upcoming Zelda adaptation is helmed by Wes Ball, written by T.S. Nowlin and produced by Avi Arad and Miyamoto. Plot details and the rest of the cast are yet to be announced.
The first Legend of Zelda game released in 1986 and follows the story of Link, a Hylian elf-like warrior, and Princess Zelda, whose bloodline is traced back to the goddess Hylia. They work together to save Hyrule from the evil demon king Ganon, who aims to remake the world in his image using the sacred Triforc relic.
