Remember how Reese Witherspoon is dating that businessman? Yeah, we keep forgetting, too, but she is! She’s certainly not dating Kevin Costner or Tom Brady, you guys! The Oscar winner has been quietly seeing German financier Oliver Haarmann since at least July 2024, per People, and for what is maybe their one year anniversary, the pair took a dip off a yacht in Saint-Tropez, France, where Witherspoon looked radiantly happy in a white one piece that’s just America’s sweetheart enough to be Reese but just classique enough for a Eurotrip. What makes the suit a standout is the subtle scalloped hem at the V-neck and along the bottom. Dare we say it’s downright Southern? Witherspoon wasn’t photographed along with her accessories, though we imagine a big, floppy straw hat and oversize sunglasses are tucked away somewhere on that yacht.

Back in 2024, when Reese Witherspoon, 49, and Oliver Haarmann, 57, were first spotted together, a source told People that Witherspoon was taking it slow when it comes to dating. “She enjoys it but doesn’t want it to be a big focus,” the source said. “She’s busy with work and her son. These are her biggest priorities.”
Witherspoon split from her ex husband, super agent Jim Toth, in March 2023; they share a son, Tennessee, 12. She also shares daughter Ava, 25, and son Deacon, 21, with ex husband Ryan Phillippe.
Unlike her exes, Haarmann doesn’t appear to have any ties to the film industry. In fact, a source told People that “Reese loves that he’s a businessman and not into Hollywood,” adding that they are “having fun.” As he’s not a celebrity, not much is known about Haarmann aside from what’s on his CV: the German financier is a founding partner of Searchlight Capital, an investment firm which claims to have $10 billion under their management. He attended Brown University for undergrad, and, like Witherspoon’s famous on-screen alter ego Elle Woods, later attended Harvard (though he received an MBA, not a law degree). Haarmann is also a minority owner of the New York Islanders, NYC’s other NHL team. (He’s the second from the left in the photo below.)
Reese Witherspoon and Oliver Haarmann have yet to make their red carpet debut, but with the Emmys coming up in September, it could be the perfect time… Just saying!
