With the 2024 winner, Teoscar Hernandez, and two-time champion Pete Alonso not participating this year, it is time to crown a first-time Home Run Derby champion during MLB All-Star Monday.
Matt Olson will be the hometown favorite, as the Braves’ first baseman looks to become the first player to win in their home stadium since Todd Frazier’s magical run in 2015. Olson has 17 home runs this season for Atlanta.
Cal Raleigh might have the best odds to take home the title, as he has absolutely crushed the ball this season, leading the league with 38 long balls. He has the power, but will have to prove he also has the endurance, in what is a grind of an event.
Oneil Cruz of the Pirates, Washington’s James Wood, Byron Buxton of the Twins, Oakland’s Brent Rooker, Junior Caminero of the Rays, and New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. round out the field.
This is one of the most exciting All-Star events across sports that you will not want to miss. Make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
