A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is expanding its Season 2 cast, adding nine to the hit drama based on Holly Jackson’s bestselling novels. We’re also getting a first look at Emma Myers‘ return to the role of Pip Fitz-Amobi.

BBC, Netflix and ZDFneo revealed Monday that Misia Butler (Kaos) will join the series as Stanley Forbes, a figure on the fringes of the investigation, with connections that may run deeper than they seem. Eden Hambelton Davies (Tell Me Everything) will play Jamie Reynolds, Connor’s brother, a quiet but popular local musician whose sudden disappearance sends shockwaves throughout the community. Jack Rowan (Noughts And Crosses) joins as Charlie Green, Pip’s new neighbor who is drawn into the heart of the mystery unravelling in Little Kilton.

Season 2 will also see Anna Brindle (The Outs), Peter Sullivan (Around The World In 80 Days), Freddie Thorp (Fate: The Winx Saga), Lu Corfield (The Crow Girl), Stephanie Street (Breathtaking) and Freddie England join the cast in key roles.

They join returning Season 1 cast Zain Iqbal (Death, Whatever!), Henry Ashton (My Lady Jane), Asha Banks (My Fault: London), Yali Topol Margalith (The Tattooist of Auschwitz), and Jude Morgan-Collie (Here We Go).

After solving the Andie Bell case Pip’s world has been transformed by her actions, and not always for the better. Pip is determined to fix the fallout – and stay away from any more investigations. But as Max Hastings’ trial approaches, Connor’s brother Jamie suddenly disappears and Pip finds herself in a race against time to find him. This new mystery will take Pip to unexpected places as she struggles with the idea of justice, straying even further from the ‘good girl’ she once was.

The first season of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder became one of BBC iPlayer’s most watched titles with 16-24 years old and BBC Three’s highest rating drama since its relaunch.

Season two was commissioned for the BBC by Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, and Fiona Campbell, Controller Youth Audience, BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. The series is produced by Moonage Pictures for BBC iPlayer and BBC Three in co-production with Netflix and ZDFneo.

It has been adapted for screen by Holly Jackson and Poppy Cogan. Series two is produced by Sophie Klein. Asim Abbasi is director for block one and Jill Robertson is director for block two.

Executive producers are Matthew Read, Simon Crawford Collins and Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures; Lucy Richer, Danielle Scott-Haughton and Katherine Bond for the BBC; alongside Holly Jackson and Poppy Cogan. BBC Studios, who brokered the co-production deals with Netflix and ZDFneo, is handling global sales.

Season two will premiere on the BBC and, outside of the UK and Ireland, on Netflix where available. In Germany it will be available exclusively on ZDFneo. In Australia it will be exclusively on Stan.
