“Modern Family” star Eric Stonestreet says he knew his fiancée, Lindsay Schweitzer, was the one because she gets his sense of humor.

“I take enjoyment knowing that I’m with the exact right person in this world who can take my torturing,” he joked to Page Six at the “Dexter: Resurrection” premiere earlier this week.

Stonestreet, who previously posted photos trolling his soon-to-be bride online, stressed that the teasing isn’t malicious.

“It’s all in fun,” he explained, adding, “It’s all in love, and she revealed herself very early on to be exactly the person who can put up with me and deal with me because I’d be doing that with someone, and I’m just glad it’s her.”

In 2021, the actor shared an engagement photo but aged Schweitzer in response to comments that he was too old for his then 41-year-old girlfriend.

In another snap, Stonestreet, 53, photoshopped a mustache on the pediatric nurse.

The couple met at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., in 2016, and got engaged in 2021.

The actor also loves that Schweitzer isn’t in showbiz.

“It was just nice to meet someone outside the business,” he told Page Six. “I always said I wanted to meet someone that didn’t want to be at the party more than I wanted to be at the party.”

Stonestreet is best known for playing Cam on “Modern Family,” which ran for eleven seasons.

His character, along with his husband, Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), were at one point set to have a spinoff series.

“ABC and Disney, and Fox said, ‘No thank you,’” he shared. “It was written, and we were in, and Chris Lloyd, our creator, was in.”

Stonestreet added that, “it was a good script and they just didn’t think it was the right time to do it.”

He admits to being “sad” that it never got off the ground.

“We enjoyed those characters,” he explained. “We enjoyed bringing those stories to light…we would have had a nice departure from how serious the world was,” before noting that “you never know what will happen.”

Stonestreet’s latest role is a lot more creepy.

He plays Al, a serial killer in the reboot of “Dexter.” He was joined at the premiere by the show’s other stars, including Michael C. Hall, Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage and Krysten Ritter.
