The third round of the Genesis Scottish Open is set to begin on Saturday, with Chris Gotterup holding a two-stroke lead heading into the weekend.

After the cuts, the field is down to 80, and Chris Gotterup, who finished nine-under in the second round, will try to hold onto a two-shot lead through the weekend.
The competition is stiff at the Renaissance Club, as ten other golfers remain within four strokes of the lead, including Ludvig Aberg (-8), Rory McIlroy (-7), and Jake Knapp (-7). The always dangerous Xander Schauffele (-6) and Scottie Scheffler (-5) remain within striking distance with two rounds to play.
After finishing Thursday with a score of -2, McIlroy put it all together on Friday, carding a 65, which will give him some momentum heading into his final two rounds.
For the average player, a six-shot hole might be too much to overcome heading into a Saturday, but for Scheffler, he will approach this as business as usual. If anyone can storm back during the weekend and position himself for a finish at or near the top of the leaderboard, it is the world number one ranked golfer.
