Summary

  • Bad Bunny’s 30-night Puerto Rico residency is projected to generate over $200 million USD in economic impact
  • It expects 600,000 visitors, boosting tourism and creating thousands of jobs for the island
  • Initial shows are exclusive to Puerto Rican residents, reflecting Bad Bunny’s focus on his homeland

Global music icon Bad Bunny‘s highly anticipated “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” (I Don’t Want to Leave Here) residency is projected to deliver a massive economic boon to Puerto Rico, with a study estimating its total global economic impact of over $200 million USD. This 30-night concert series, which kicked off today at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan and runs through September 14, is set to significantly boost the island’s tourism sector and local economy, bringing in approximately 600,000 visitors to the island.

According to CNN, the island’s promotional agency, Discover Puerto Rico, states that the approximate $200 million USD economic impact forecast is on the conservative side. Not only is the 30-date residency expected to boost tourism, but it is expected to create thousands of jobs. Hotels were booked out almost six months in advance, immediately after Benito announced the residency in January. The hotel occupancy rate has increased to nearly 70% this summer and up 20% in September compared to last year. Flight searches to PR also increased 12%.

The first nine shows of his residency are expected to be performed exclusively for Puerto Rican residents, while the rest of the shows will open up to global fans. The Coliseo de Puerto Rico sits 18,500 people. Affirming Puerto Rican culture, Bad Bunny’s recent world DeBí TiRAR MáS FOToS completely skips the U.S., as the artist recently spoke about how it was an “unnecessary” destination. He said at the time to Variety that American fans have had plenty of chances to see him prior to this tour.

Bad Bunny’s “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” residency in Puerto Rico kicks off today on July 11, 2025.
