BMW Motorrad has revealed the R 1300 R “TITAN”, a brutal, beautifully aggressive sprint racer crafted by a select group of passionate employees from its design and engineering team. Led by project manager Philipp Ludwig, this one-off machine reimagines the standard BMW R 1300 R as a race-focused beast with exaggerated proportions and race-spec hardware.
Built around the 1300cc boxer engine, the “TITAN” features a custom monocoque body, forged carbon elements and a striking metallic blue graphic design that evokes a sense of motion even at a standstill. Its sharp front-heavy stance and aggressively elevated tail emphasize explosive starts and aerodynamic efficiency. A nitrous system, integrated under the rear seat between dual Akrapovič titanium exhausts, provides an extra burst of power, delivering high-speed acceleration for short-distance drag runs.
The team also enlisted Wilbers for a custom hard-tuned chassis and Akrapovič for a bespoke dual-flow exhaust system. A Magura HC3 brake lever ensures controlled deceleration, while the footrests are pushed far back to provide the ideal racing posture. The BMW R 1300 R “TITAN” may never hit production, but it stands as a dramatic showcase of the brand’s engineering excellence and passion for high-performance design.
