EXCLUSIVE: Bert Ulrich, former NASA film liason, has joined Space 11 Corp, the company founded by prolific Italian producer Andrea Iervolino to create entertainment projects set in space.

Ulrich, who has worked with filmmakers behind movies including The Martian, First Man, Hidden Figures, Ad Astra, Fly Me to the Moon, and the upcoming Project Hail Mary, has joined the company as EVP of Production Development and Communications.

Ulrich served for more than 20 years at NASA as the agency’s multimedia liaison for films and documentaries, connecting the agency with the entertainment industry.

At Space 11, Ulrich will work on the development of original content, space-based productions, and media collaborations. Founded in 2021, Space 11 is the first company dedicated to creating entertainment in and inspired by space, with projects in development ranging from zero-gravity reality shows to feature films and immersive formats that blend science, innovation, and storytelling.

“I’m thrilled to join Space 11 and help shape a new era of entertainment on Earth and in space,” said Ulrich. “With Andrea and the team, we’re ready to explore storytelling in a way the world has never seen.”

Andrea Iervolino added: “Bert is a visionary in space storytelling. His experience is invaluable in taking Space 11 to the next level and inspiring audiences around the world.”

Iervolino is currently in production on Al Pacino starrer Maserati: The Brothers. His credits also include To The Bone, Ferrari and Waiting For The Barbarians.
