See, this is why Selena Gomez has her own beauty brand. Somewhere in the milky, jelly, faux-nude manicure swirl of trends, it became obvious that the look of the summer was definitely glossy, but why did we never put it together that you could just…match your nail polish to your lip gloss? Thank you Sel, and thank you to her nail artist, Tom Bachik, who perfectly matched the shade of her latest manicure to her next Rare Beauty product, a reflective, glowy gloss in a light pink shade.
Bachik didn’t reveal which products he used to create the positively glossy look on Gomez’s fingertips (not quite as pink as on her lips, but equally radiant), but if you’re looking for some how-to instructions for minimalist manis, look no further than our guide to nude nails, right here.

For this look, Bachik opted to give Gomez a soft, short shape as opposed to the long, dramatic claws we sometimes see on stars. A working girl’s manicure you can type with, open bottles with, go to the gym with and not worry about one breaking off in the middle of spin class.
On the other end of the beauty spectrum, Gomez used Instagram to be candid and human about skincare woes, giving props to her “homie” of a chin pimple for arriving “strong.” Been there.
Despite not being a purveyor of nail products, Selena Gomez has established herself as something of a finger chameleon (too weird? No, I’m going with it!). In June her digits were Dreamy Lilac, then Blingy Naked, then Blood Orange. Already in July she’s done Short Bandana (okay, that was a throwback, and now this glossy lewk. What’s next in this MadLibs-ian game of mix-and-match descriptors? Dinosaur disco nails? Cotswolds at dawn? Raindrop dew? Actually these all sound like legit names for nail polishes, never mind.
