A 15-year-old boy from San Bernardino was shot and killed in Orange County over the weekend, officials announced.
Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of the gun violence on July 5 at around 2 p.m. in the 1100 block of Court Street in Stanton.
“Several callers described two male juveniles who had been shot,” a OCSD news release stated. “Deputies arrived and located the two subjects suffering from gunshot wounds.”
The 15-year-old, now identified as Samuel Louie Vidal, was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A second boy, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Details are limited and it’s unclear exactly how the incident unfolded.
No information was provided about a possible motive for the shooting, nor did investigators release a description of a possible suspect in the shooting.
