Priyanka Chopra’s mom was not happy the first time the actress brought Nick Jonas home.
The “Heads of State” star, 42, was “sharing an apartment” with Madhu Chopra when she and the Jonas Brothers member, 32, “met in person” ahead of their joint Met Gala appearance.
“[At] the end of the night, we went back to my place,” Priyanka told “Not Gonna Lie” podcast listeners Thursday, insisting they were “just [going] to hang out.”
She explained, “We were at the Carlyle and it was closing. I told him, ‘My mom’s home. She might be awake.’”
However, the “Quantico” alum “forgot to tell” her parent that she was “bringing a boy back” at 1 a.m. — and stumbled upon her mom “laid out on the couch watching [‘Law & Order] SVU.’”
Madhu was “so mad,” with Priyanka remembering, “She ran to her bedroom [and] was like, ‘You should have told me.’”
The 71-year-old — while “putting on her lipstick” — said, “I’m not coming back out.”
When host Kylie Kelce raved over Jonas meeting Priyanka’s mom on their first date, the former pageant queen noted that it wasn’t a date.
“We met to kind of see what it was,” she remembered. “Then he gave me a hug at the end of the night, and I thought I’d really royally screwed it up. … [He] patted me on the back twice.”
Priyanka believed she was friend-zoned at the time because she showed up 45 minutes late to their outing like “a diva.”
The duo continued texting “for about a year” until they “went out for a proper date and then never stopped dating.”
Priyanka and the singer went public with their romance in 2018 and got engaged in July of that year while vacationing in Greece.
Five months later, they walked down the aisle.
The pair welcomed daughter Malti, now 3, in January 2022 via surrogate.
Priyanka gave rare insight into her toddler’s personality on Thursday’s episode, from her love of raiding her mom’s “magic closet” to her nicknames for uncles Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas — “Go” and “Kevy,” respectively.
