Summary

  • Julian Klausner debuts new menswear collection for Dries Van Noten at Paris Fashion Week, titled “Just a Perfect Day”
  • The collection explores structured silhouettes, bold patterns and layered styling, blending casual ease with subversive elegance
  • Sand-covered runways, geometric motifs and accessories like belts and sunglasses highlight a fresh direction for contemporary menswear

Dries Van Noten recently unveiled its Spring/Summer 2026 collection at Paris Fashion Week, presented under creative director Julian Klausner. Titled “Just a Perfect Day,” the show was staged on a runway dusted with yellow sand, creating a warm, atmospheric backdrop that reinforced the collection’s mood of relaxed elegance.

While the show aimed to evoke a sense of ease and calm, Klausner masterfully introduced contrast through bold silhouettes and statement pieces. Many of the looks featured highly structured tailoring, often accentuating parts of the male form not typically emphasized — such as the waist, seen in peplum-style tops and cinched jackets. Bold textures and striking patterns added further depth, enhancing the visual impact of each garment.

Other looks embraced volume and layering, blending vibrant, clashing colors layered with relaxed silhouettes that still subtly flattered the form. Klausner continued to explore the tension between casual and formalwear, reinterpreting traditional elegance with unexpected twists — from stacking pinstripes over pinstripes to pairing geometric motifs and floral prints in unconventional ways. Accessories like sunglasses, belts, and bags were thoughtfully integrated to complete each look, adding cohesion and polish. The result was a collection that felt both refined and subversive, marking a bold new chapter in the brand’s menswear evolution while redefining the language of contemporary dressing.
