The number of rescue teams continues to grow in the search for a missing Los Angeles County resident, who disappeared during a hike in the Angeles National Forest nearly a week ago.

“The search for Monica Reza continues in the Mount Waterman area. SAR teams from San Diego to Tulare County have joined the mission to help bring her home. We’re grateful for their tireless efforts,” Montrose Search & Rescue Team (Ca.) posted on Facebook Friday morning.

Reza was last seen around 9:10 a.m. on Sunday near the Mount Waterman area at 6000 Foot Gate on Angeles Crest Highway.

The new teams join a host of rescuers already searching for Reza, including those from Altadena, Antelope Valley, Malibu, San Dimas, Sierra Madre, Riverside, Ventura County, Orange County and San Bernardino County.

Reza was described as a White woman standing 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighing around 100 pounds. She has brown eyes and gray hair. Reza was last seen wearing a red long-sleeved shirt, green hiking pants and hiking shoes.

“There is concern for her wellbeing,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated in a bulletin that listed the 60-year-old hiker as “at risk.”

Montros SAR asked the public to avoid the search area. “Uncoordinated hikers can interfere with tracking, delay progress, or create new emergencies. We also have enough food & supplies at this time. Thank you for supporting trained teams,” their post reads.

Anyone who may know Reza’s whereabouts or has information on her disappearance is asked to call LASD’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500. The public can also call the Crescenta Valley Station at 818-248-3464 or Detective Rincon at 323-890-5500.

Those who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or go to the lacrimestoppers.org website.
