Summary
- MAISON SPECIAL collaborates with Evangelion on a limited capsule
- The collection comprises graphic tees and jacquard knits, featuring iconic characters and scenes from the anime
- Pre-orders are live; official release begins June 28, 2025
Japanese label MAISON SPECIAL has unveiled a limited-edition collaboration featuring Hideaki Anno‘s Evangelion anime franchise. The capsule includes four original graphic T-shirts and three jacquard-knit short-sleeve tops, each designed to reinterpret key characters and scenes from the iconic series.
Rather than relying on conventional screen printing, the range emphasizes craftsmanship and originality, using hand-drawn illustrations and intricate knit techniques to bring the beloved elements from Evangelion to apparel. The graphic tees feature newly illustrated depictions of Rei Ayanami, Units 00/01/02, Pen Pen and even Lilith — all rendered in a distinctive hand-drawn digital aesthetic.
Meanwhile, the jacquard-knit tops showcase iconic scenes from the anime, translated into richly textured five-color knits that highlight MAISON SPECIAL’s craftsmanship. This approach offers fans a wearable homage that feels both elevated and deeply personal. Currently available for pre-order via MAISON SPECIAL, pieces from this collaborative capsule range between ¥13,200 – ¥15,400 JPY (approx. $91 – $107 USD). Starting June 28, the graphic tees will be officially available to shop, followed by the jacquard-knits on July 12, 2025.
