EXCLUSIVE: Dana Carvey and David Spade are expanding their Fly on the Wall podcast to video after striking a multi-year contract extension with Audacy.

The pair have been hosting the show, which is ostensibly a history of Saturday Night Live told through the duo and interviews with other cast members, since January 2022.

Their impressions will now be seen, not just heard, with the move to video in addition to audio, a trend that is taking over the podcast business over the last 12 months.

They are also bringing Superfly, a spinoff of Fly on the Wall, into the main show as a unified offering.

For context, Fly on the Wall previously released episodes on Wednesdays with a guest and Superfly, which launched on Fridays in February 2024, has largely been guest-less with Carvey and Spade riffing on current events, viral social clips, pop culture moments, and audience submissions.

Moving forward, both episodes will be called Fly on the Wall – new weekly episodes with guests will be released on Thursdays, and new episodes with just the two of them will be released on Mondays.

It comes after the pair won an iHeartPodcast Award for Best Comedy Podcast earlier this year. The shows have generated more than 100 million combined downloads.

Julie Bowen will be the first guest on the new video format on Thursday, June 26.

Fly on the Wall is executive produced by Carvey, Spade, and Audacy’s Leah Reis-Dennis.

“I am thrilled to be carrying on with the Fly on the Wall podcast,” said Carvey. “In other news – It’s a David Spade Summer.”

“Dana and David have built one of the most engaging, successful comedy podcasts in the space, and as the momentum only continues to grow, we’re thrilled to take this next step with them and bring their content and community to life in new ways,” added Leah Reis-Dennis, Head of Podcasts, Audacy. “With their loyal fan base, top-tier guests, and the expansion into full video, Fly on the Wall creates an unmatched environment for advertisers looking to align with premium, personality-driven content and a powerhouse platform for brands to authentically connect with millions of comedy fans.”

Carvey and Spade are represented by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
