Hopefully this furry family took a good look at the refund policy.

A delightful video shows deputies rescuing a raccoon family from inside a wood-burning stove in Colorado just after the mother scooted up the chimney “like it was her own personal action movie,” according to police.

Animal control deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a “wild (and kinda adorable)” call on May 19 of some unwelcome guests living in an outdoor wood burning stove on a resident’s property.

The deputies opened the stove door to find a family of five raccoons, a mother and her five kits, lounging in the soot. The mother fled before officers even had a chance to read her her rights.

“As the stove door opened, momma raccoon ran up the chimney and onto the roof like it was her personal action movie,” the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office sheriff’s office said.

The video shows the deputy carefully grabbing the babies left behind by the scruff of the neck and lifting them out and finding a new home for them.

They each put up a fuss, making a cute squeaky chirping sound as they protest their removal from what the sheriff’s office called their “temporary Airbnb.”

“Oh my god” one of the deputies says as she scoops one of the babies out in a cloud of ash. “You’re so cute!” She shows another deputy the baby who gives the soot-covered rascal a loving rub on the head.

The last one, covered in the most soot, seemed the most resigned to its fate. It gives a pathetic wave to the deputy’s body camera.

“Our officers gently scooped up the tiny, fussy fluffballs and gave them a safe spot to wait: a cozy, quiet bush just outside the home,” the sheriff said.

The babies offered up minor resistance, wriggling in the deputies hands as they carried them, but eventually they settled into their new home.

“The babies were healthy, safe, and waiting for momma to make her way back, just a normal day for the JCSO Animal Control team (cape not included),” the sheriff’s office said.

“It’s what we do.”

The adorable rescue took place in Golden, a small town that sits at the bottom of the Rocky Mountains. It has a sign greeting visitors that reads: “Howdy Folks! Welcome to Golden Where The West Lives.”
