Well, of course Jeremy Allen White is playing Bruce Springsteen in an upcoming biopic. Bruce Springsteen is the working class hero and Jeremy Allen White plays working class heroes on TV.
The film, written and directed by Scott Cooper, is called Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, and we are already excited. Another musician biopic may not exactly be breaking new ground (remember Timothée Chalamet’s Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown just last year?), but this one looks especially promising, and not just because White will be doing his own singing.
Per Variety, Springsteen himself has worked closely with the filmmakers on this movie. “It is a once-in-a-lifetime honor to be collaborating with Bruce Springsteen, an inspiring and incomparable artist who represents so much to so many,” Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios president David Greenbaum said in a statement.
So, without further ado, here is everything we know about the Jeremy Allen White Bruce Springsteen biopic.
What’s it about?
Biopics often attempt to cover their subjects’s entire lifetime, or at least career, but it doesn’t look like the case with this movie. Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere has a tight focus on the creation of Springsteen’s Nebraska album in 1982. Per The Hollywood Reporter, it is based on Warren Zanes’ book of the same name.
Who else is in the cast?
In addition to White, Succession star and fellow Jeremy, Jeremy Strong, is set to play Jon Landau, Springsteen’s manager. “Jeremy [Allen White]’s work is incredible. Bruce is on set a lot. We’re all kind of working on it together. It’s a real collaboration. Right now, nothing is more important to me than the world that’s serving his story and bringing Jon Landau to life. When I’m not talking to you, I’m listening to Bruce records,” Strong told Variety.
Other notable costars include Marc Maron, David Krumholtz, and Gaby Hoffman. Odessa Young, seen in those leaked set photos published back in November, plays Springsteen’s love interest, Faye.
When does it premiere?
Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is set to premiere in theaters on October 24, 2025.
Is there a trailer?
There is!
The two-minute trailer, which dropped on June 18, opens with White as Springsteen buying his first car. (By the way, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you, those are brown contacts White is wearing.) But the highlight is undoubtedly White’s rendition of Springsteen’s iconic song, “Born to Run.”
