ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) — Lindsay Lane Christian Academy is welcoming a new Principal that will lead the High School and the Middle School.

Andrew McCombs took over the role after spending the last nine years at Arab High School, and two years at Whitesburg Christian Academy.

In the past, McCombs has taught Social Science and Bible study classes.

Some of his past experiences include playing baseball in college at Snead State University, coaching high school baseball, being an assistant Athletic Director in charge of middle school athletics, FCA leader, Sunday School teacher and Bi-vocational music minister.

According to school officials, Andrew has served as the Intern Administrator for the last two years under Robby Parker, who became head of schools in February.

Looking ahead to the influence he’ll have in his new principal role, McCombs said Lindsay Lane’s motto of raising champions for Christ aligns well with his goals.

“We want to make sure that we are preparing these young people to go out into the world, and if they decide to go into ministry, then that’s great, but we do know that, more than likely, a major percentage of these kids in our care are going to be in normal vocations,” McCombs said. “We want to make sure that they go into the world and they’re able to share Jesus with other people while being really good at their vocation.”

Andrew and his wife of nine years, Mallory, have a 3 week old baby boy (Charles Andrew McCombs III “Tripp”).

McCombs started his new role at the beginning of June.
