HUNTSVILLE, Ala (WHNT) — June 17 marks five months since Sabrina Chambers went missing.

She is one of the five suspects named in the kidnapping of Huntsville realtor Ronald Dumas Jr. Although her grandmother said she reported her missing before she was named a suspect in the case.

“She always made big plans before that day what she wanted to do. So you know, I’m sad, because I couldn’t say happy birthday,” said Rosa Hardy.

Hardy is Sabrina Chamber’s grandmother.

Although it’s been more than just silence today, Hardy hasn’t heard from her in five months.

“After I buried my three children, I need the closure,” she said. “It’s the unknown that really messes your head up.”

Chambers is the only Huntsville-based suspect named in the kidnapping of Ronald Dumas junior, who disappeared in December. Police announced the charges in February.

Hardy said the last time she heard from her granddaughter was on January 17… well before police said she was a suspect.

Now, she said she gets weird phone calls that make her feel like Sabrina, or someone else, is trying to contact her.

“They just listen and then they hang up,” said Hardy.

Hardy said they are usually silent, and then when she says, ‘Sabrina, is this you?’ the person hangs up the phone.

Hardy said she actually received one of these calls Monday night, and it was the first time a voice sounding like a recording said “bye” before hanging up the phone.

Just last month, Hardy said she received notices in the mail for apartments applied for in Sabrina’s name in Florida and California.

“Sabrina knows I’m not going to go along with any wrongdoing, and I’m going to help, you know, get Sabrina out of this situation if I can,” she said.

Hardy said she is holding out hope for her granddaughter’s safe return, but ultimately, she needs closure.

“I need to have closure, and I’m not going to give up,” she said. “If they call me and tell me they found her remains, I’m going to deal with it, if they catch her, I know she’s going to have to tell her part of what she played in this, and if she has to go to jail, I’m going to deal with that as well.”

In April, Quintarius White and Kierra Clark were arrested in Memphis, but there has been no update in the case since then.

Huntsville Police did confirm to News 19 that Sabrina Chambers was reported missing before a warrant was obtained for her arrest.

Carissa Cash and Toure McLaurin are also on the run.
