EXCLUSIVE: The Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are heading back into the podcast studio.
The duo have teamed with Studio71 on an untitled podcast set to launch this summer. The theme will be reinvention, from rebuilding their lives after the January 2025 Palisades wildfire to Heidi’s return to music.
Montag and Pratt were thrust back into the limelight earlier this year after losing their home in the LA wildfires. They sued the city after losing their Pacific Palisades home, blaming LA and the municipal water department for water issues that hampered firefighters.
But Pratt, in particular, made the most of the attention, filming a swathe of TikToks, some sad, others more sanguine, as well as many promoting Montag’s music career with her 2010 album Superficial returning to the charts as people bought it from iTunes to help.
This is not their first move into the podcast space; the pair previously hosted The Speidi Podcast and Speidi’s 16th Minute.
It comes after Deadline first revealed that the duo were in talks with Hulu over a new unscripted series, which is in the works at the streamer with ITV America.
Studio71 will be supporting distribution, marketing and ad sales for the show across audio and video, as well as management of the couple’s YouTube channel, where the video episodes will be posted.
The company’s roster of shows includes Bill Maher’s Club Random, Kill Tony, Juicy Scoop and Bobbi Althoff’s The Really Good Podcast as well as new titles including Starter Marriage, Life’s a Joke with Christina Kirkman and Sounds Like a Cult.
“This is more than just a podcast for us, it’s a way to process everything we’ve been through and share that in a way that’s real,” said Montag and Pratt. “We want our fans to be part of this journey, to laugh with us, cry with us, and be in the moment with us.”
