PHOENIX — A man and a woman from California who allegedly committed a homicide in that state last week were arrested in Arizona on Monday, authorities said.

Johnathan Raymon Mota, 42, and Katrine Rivera-Valles, 34, were taken into custody in connection to the Friday murder, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.

They had fled to Golden Valley, an unincorporated area between Kingman and Bullhead City in northwest Arizona.

Details on how the suspects in California homicide were located

The U.S. Marshals Office contacted detectives at the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office on Monday regarding Mota and Rivera-Valles.

During the investigation it was revealed that the two had fled to an area north of Golden Valley, off of Cottonwood Road and U.S. Highway 93.

Bullhead City Police Department SWAT team, Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers and an Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter aided detectives in the search for the suspects.

Mota and Rivera-Valles were found driving a stolen vehicle in the Dolan Springs area and followed into Golden Valley where they surrendered and were taken into custody without incident.

Mota was booked on a felony warrant out of California for homicide.

Meanwhile, Rivera-Valles was booked on a felony warrant out of California for accessory to homicide.
