  • Vacheron Constantin and The Met launched an 18-month Artisan Residency program
  • Three artisans were selected to engage with the museum’s vast collections in NYC and will study under master artisans in Geneva during the period

Vacheron Constantin, in collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) has launched the Artisan Residency program. Designed to nurture the next generation of artisans, the program reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to art and cultural heritage. The official announcement and artisan selection were celebrated at The Met Cloisters last week, coinciding with Vacheron Constantin’s 270th anniversary.

Three artisans were selected for the 18-month-long residency, each recognized for their dedication to preserving craftsmanship while exploring new artistic techniques. Throughout the program, the artisans will engage with The Met’s vast collection in New York. They will also spend time in Geneva, Switzerland, where they will learn from Vacheron Constantin’s master artisans. The residency will culminate in October 2026, when the artists will return to New York to showcase their work at The Met, highlighting the innovative intersections between historic craftsmanship and contemporary artistry.

The finalists include Aspen Golann (U.S.A.), a furniture maker; Ibrahim Said (Egypt), a ceramicist and Joy Harvey (Italy), a jeweler. Their selection was based on artistic merit, originality and commitment to advancing traditional techniques while creating objects that demonstrate exceptional aesthetic and technical value. Each artist will develop a unique piece during the residency, drawing inspiration from The Met’s collections and Vacheron Constantin’s intricate craft traditions.
