Apple announced updates to the VisionOS 26, the operating software for the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset.

It will let you play spatial games on the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset using Sony PSVR 2 Sense hand controllers. That should be a big boost for games on Apple’s spatial headset.

You’ll have access to features like personae with 3D imagery. You can securely save your eye and hand data so you can easily use it as a guest user on other devices. It has a new protected content API that is for your eyes only, so only those authorized can see info like medical information. It has Logitech Muse, built for Vision Pro, that lets you draw in things.

The company made the announcement at the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC).

It has better 90Hz hand tracking, look to scroll, spatial scenes, Safari spatial browsing, team device sharing, unlock iPhone with Apple Vision Pro, Apple Intelligence enhancements, shared experiences, folders in Home View, enterprise APIs, and widgets.

The latter widgets now become spatial, with personalized info at a glance, integrating into a user’s space and reappearing every time they put on the Vision Pro. Widgets are customizable with a variety of options for frame width, color and depth.

It also has wide POV content support. VisionOS 26 adds support for 180-degree, 360-degree and wide field-of-view content from Insta360, GoPro and Canon devices. The enterprise APIs allow companies to create spatial experiences unique to VisionOS.
