Summary

  • The full trailer for the third and final season of Squid Game was unveiled at Netflix’s Tudum 2025
  • The highly anticipated final season is confirmed to premiere worldwide on Netflix on June 27, 2025
  • The trailer hints at Gi-hun’s return to the games and intensifies the conflict with the Front Man

Netflix has released the official trailer for the highly anticipated third and final season of Squid Game. The first full-length trailer for the series was unveiled at Netflix Tudum 2025, following the initial teaser revealed in early May.

The trailer and official synopsis confirm the continuation of the intense conflict between protagonist Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) and the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun). It shows Gi-hun returning to the games, seemingly at his lowest point, while new and deadlier games commence, including a gumball machine game that divides players into red and blue teams. The cast, including Wi Ha-jun, Im Si-wan, and Kang Ha-neul, are all set to return, with the series creators promising a shocking conclusion to Gi-hun’s journey. The creator Hwang Dong-hyuk tells Tudum, “The new season will focus on what Gi-hun can and will do after all his efforts fail. He is in utter despair after losing everything and watching all his efforts go in vain. The story then takes an interesting turn, questioning whether Gi-hun can overcome his shame and rise again to prove that values of humanity — like conscience and kindness — can exist in the arena.” The third season picks up right after the Season 2 finale, which saw Gi-hun lead a rebellion against the puppet masters of Squid Game. Unfortunately, the coup failed and many died in the process.

The final season is officially set to premiere globally on Netflix on June 27, 2025. This relatively short wait between seasons is due to seasons 2 and 3 reportedly being filmed simultaneously.
