‘Ridiculous montage of lies’: Mike Johnson humiliated over repeated ‘historic’ boast

House Speaker Mike Johnson’s insistent claims that he has presided over one of the most “successful” congressional sessions in history were swiftly dismissed on MS NOW Friday morning.

Host Stephanie Ruhle shared a montage of clips of the Louisiana Republican boasting about GOP achievements while he also disparaged skeptical reporters for questioning him.

“This historic administration that has accomplished more in the first nine, ten months of an administration or Congress than arguably any in history,” Johnson said in one clip.

When challenged by a reporter who noted Johnson’s Congress would work a single week over upcoming months, he sniffed, “Well, that’s kind of a ridiculous question.”

Ruhle disagreed.

“Johnson is desperately trying to hold on to his majority,” she said. “It seems like he’s latched on to a new talking point — that’s not true.”

The video montage spurred laughter from Ruhle.

“That’s kind of a ridiculous montage of lies we just heard there,” she said. “Last year, Congress did set a record for the fewest bills signed into law. And this Congress overall is on track to be one of the least productive in modern history. This is not an opinion —we’re looking at the data.”

“So when Mike Johnson says it has been one of the ‘most productive,’ I want you to think about how things have changed for you over the last two years and ask yourself, exactly who is Congress working for?”
