Peyton Manning Doesn’t Hold Back About Aaron Rodgers Amid Steelers Rumors

The rumors will simply not die down regarding Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. All offseason long, rumors and reports have been swirling about the two parties, but to this point in time no deal has been agreed to.

With OTA’s underway, the Steelers need to get some kind of answer soon. They need to know who their starting quarterback is going to be.

If that quarterback is going to be Rodgers, the 41-year-old will need to develop chemistry with his new team. Pittsburgh wants to win a championship with the future Hall of Fame signal caller leading the way, but that won’t happen if the team isn’t on the same page.

Rodgers has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league throughout much of his career. He’s coming off of two straight disappointing seasons with the New York Jets.

In his first year with the Jets, he tore his Achilles on the opening drive of the season. Last year, New York looked completely disconnected. Rodgers had a good year individually, but the team did not.

Some have wondered if Rodgers is truly the quarterback who can take the Steelers to Super Bowl contention.

Peyton Manning, another legendary NFL quarterback, has now spoken out with his thoughts on the matter. When asked if he thought Rodgers is still a championship caliber quarterback, Manning answered honestly.

“I think so,” Manning said. “Look, the guy’s super talented, probably has arguably one of the best arms of all-time. He’s just kind of elastic. I don’t have any insight on that, hopefully he gets with a team soon and kind of gets going. It’ll be fun to see him back on the field.”

Those words should give Pittsburgh fans hope that waiting for Rodgers will pay off.

Right now, no deal has gotten done between the Steelers and the legendary quarterback. However, it seems inevitable that Rodgers will end up signing.

Even his former head coach with the Green Bay Packers, Matt LaFleur, has predicted that Rodgers will sign with and play for Pittsburgh.

“I’m pretty sure [the Steelers] know what they’re doing,” LaFleur said. “I’m sure they’re confident in what they’re doing, and I would fully expect him to be a Pittsburgh Steeler.”

While the situation is causing nervousness, it seems likely that the two sides will get something done in the near future.
