Margo Martin, special assistant to President Donald Trump, shared a video on X, formerly Twitter, of the president calling Savannah Chrisley regarding his pardon of her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley.

Martin said Trump informed Savannah that he would be granting “full pardons” to Todd and Julie.

Todd and Julie Chrisley: What to Know

Todd and Julie Chrisley, stars of the reality TV series Chrisley Knows Best, gained fame for showcasing their lavish lifestyle and tight-knit family dynamics. The show debuted in 2014.

The couple was indicted in 2019 on multiple federal charges, including tax evasion, wire fraud, and conspiracy.

In 2022, both were convicted of orchestrating a multimillion-dollar bank fraud scheme and for submitting false documents to secure loans and avoid paying taxes. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison and Julie to seven years. Both sentences were later reduced.

Todd and Julie filed multiple appeals and continued to maintain their innocence.

Jay Surgent, an attorney for the Chrisleys, told NBC News in February that the couple would seek pardons from the president.

“They believe that the president will seriously consider pardoning both Julie and Todd Chrisley as a result of the unfair treatment they received in the criminal justice system,” Surgent said.

Savannah spoke at the Republican National Convention in July of last year.

Where are Todd and Julie Chrisley now?

Todd was serving his sentence at Federal Prison Camp, Pensacola in Florida, while Julie served her sentence at Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

What happened to Todd and Julie’s children?

Todd has three children with Julie: 28-year-old Chase, 27-year-old Savannah, and 19-year-old Grayson. Todd also has two children from a previous marriage, 35-year-old Lindsie and 33-year-old Kyle.

Todd and Julie also had full custody of their 12-year-old granddaughter, Chloe.

Savannah took over as the primary guardian of Grayson and Chloe after her parents’ sentencing.

Todd and Julie’s children are expected to appear in a new docuseries on Lifetime, Variety reported on Wednesday.

The official synopsis reads, “The family faces the challenge of carrying on the Chrisley name and legacy on their own with only phone calls and brief visits with their incarcerated parents. While Savannah maintains custody of her younger siblings, Chloe and Grayson, she has been fighting tirelessly for a Presidential pardon to free her parents. Meanwhile, Chase is addressing some life struggles while building his new business and navigating his relationship with girlfriend Jodi.”

Why is Donald Trump pardoning Todd and Julie Chrisley?

In the video shared on X, Trump said Todd and Julie were given “a pretty harsh treatment, based on what I’m hearing.”

“I hear they’re terrific people. This should not have happened,” Trump said.

What’s Next

It is unclear when Todd and Julie will be released.

“I hope we could do it by tomorrow,” Trump said in the video.
