Summary

  • Sydney Sweeney describes Season 3 of Euphoria as even “more unhinged” than previous seasons, promising a heightened level of chaos for her character, Cassie Howard
  • The long-awaited third season will feature a five-year time jump, moving the characters into their adult lives and exploring new struggles
  • Season 3 is expected to release in 2026

Sydney Sweeney has offered hints about what fans can expect from Euphoria Season 3, particularly concerning her character, Cassie Howard.

In a recent interview with Empire, Sweeney shared how much the character meant to her, “I have such a spot in my heart for Cassie, and I hold her really close and dear. She is crazy. She makes so many mistakes. She’s flawed on so many levels, but she does it all from a place of love. It could be a sad version of love, as well. It’s much fun to play a character that is as crazy as she is. Sam [Levinson] is such a brilliant filmmaker to work with, because I’ll read something, then I’ll call him, and I’m like, ‘Let’s go crazier.’ And he’s like, ‘I’m all in.’ And this season is unhinged.” In response to being asked if the new season would be more unhinged, the star confirmed, “Yes,” with a laugh.

The long-awaited third season will feature a five-year time jump, moving the characters beyond their high school years. This narrative leap aims to explore new struggles and adult dilemmas. Filming for Season 3 began earlier this year, with a premiere expected in 2026.
