Gone Girl actress Rosamund Pike has described her “15 minutes of hell” after she was punched in the face on a London street, and had her mobile phone stolen.
The Sun newspaper reports that, back in 2006, Pike – who starred as Amy Dunne in Gone Girl alongside Ben Affleck and also appeared in Bond film Die Another Day – was speaking to her mother on the phone when she was violently apprehended by a thief on a bicycle.
Pike said:
I was on the phone to my mother — on a mobile phone walking along a road — and I was mugged.
“The phone was snatched so all she heard was me scream and a thud and the phone went dead.”
Pike, who was left with a bruise on her face, said she was “angry,” when she spoke recently about her ordeal on Magic Radio. Reports of hHr account comes on the same day London’s Metropolitan Police released a report revealing that 70,137 mobile phones were stolen in the UK capital last year – 192 phones a day.
Following her breakthrough role in 2002’s Die Another Day, she has been successful in film and TV roles. She was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress for Gone Girl in 2014, and received a nomination for a BAFTA Award for 2024’s Saltburn. She is the recipient of an Emmy Award for TV series State of the Union (2019), and a Golden Globe Award for her performance in 2021 dark comedy I Care A Lot.
Deadline reported that her Amazon Prime Video Show The Wheel of Time has been canceled after three sesasons.
