MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) — The sudden closure of the Insanity Complex in Madison is being met with mixed reactions.
The complex, which offered arcade games, putt putt, roller skating and more, announced Thursday on Facebook that it would be closing immediately.
For many, this came as a shock, but for different reasons.
Autumn Foster said she had a birthday party planned for her children and was not told that the complex was closing. She said she found out on Facebook. Foster said the complex took her payment and hasn’t responded about a refund.
“I have a hard time believing they didn’t know they were already closing, though, when they processed my payment,” Foster said over Facebook Messenger. “Our party was tonight at 6 p.m., and no one ever called to let me know or anything.”
Foster said she fortunately rebooked with another place, but has yet to hear back about a refund from Insanity Complex.
For others like Alex Soh, who worked there for seven years, the closing came as a shock, because he found out from his mom and not anyone from the complex.
“That was the shock to me. I didn’t believe it at first, but I had to go down to the complex myself to find out that it actually had closed and then I took a video of it,” Soh said. “I was like that’s it, that’s the end of an era.”
There are still very little answers as to why the complex closed. Two employees working at the business office would not come to the door Friday. News 19 called and left a message for the complex, but that went unanswered.
